What is PMDD
PMDD, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, is a severe extension of PMS. While PMS affects most menstruating women to some degree, PMDD is significantly more intense and can be debilitating. It involves extreme mood shifts including sadness, hopelessness, intense anxiety, rage, and sometimes suicidal thoughts. These symptoms occur in the two weeks before menstruation and typically disappear shortly after bleeding begins.
Unlike PMS, PMDD often requires professional support beyond lifestyle changes alone. If you suspect you may have PMDD, please do not manage it alone.
