This seminar is for certified Chinese medicine practitioners who want to expand their clinical knowledge and skills in supporting women with chronic vulvar and vaginal pain.

Over four online sessions (11 total hours), Orit shares insights from over 18 years of clinical experience supporting women with chronic vulvar pain through lectures, discussions, and clinical case studies. The course examines vulvodynia from Western medicine (research-based), Chinese medicine, and integrative perspectives.

Seminar overview

Vulvodynia is a chronic vulvar pain without an identifiable cause and affects approximately 1 in 7 women and female adolescents.

Despite its prevalence, vulvodynia remains under-recognized and is frequently misdiagnosed. Many patients undergo years of ineffective treatments, repeated testing, or dismissal of symptoms. This often leads not only to persistent physical pain, but also to psychological distress, relationship difficulties, and reduced quality of life.

Chinese medicine offers a safe, non-intimate approach to supporting patients effectively and compassionately.

The broader impact of Vulvodynia

  1. Western medical understanding of vulvodynia: Anatomy, definitions, diagnosis, and conventional treatments

  2. Psychological and social dimensions: Impact on daily life, communication strategies, and patient-centered care

  3. Chinese medicine perspective: Etiology, syndromes, acupuncture techniques, herbal prescriptions*, and integrative frameworks

  4. Clinical frameworks for practice: Yin Fire theory, Shang Han Lun, and Master Tung acupuncture

  5. Real-world applications: Case studies highlighting effective patient support strategies

  6. Diet and lifestyle modifications: Role in treatment and recovery

  7. Topical and natural therapies: Promising tools for complementary care
